Speaking to QRL Media after his team played in the Intrust Super Championship – PNG Hunters coach Michael Marum said his players would learn from their experience.

The PNG Hunters were outplayed in the first half by the Penrith Panthers who recorded a strong win in the interstate challenge; but Marum said he was proud of the effort his players put in to make the game a contest in the second half.

The occasion and the big stage appeared to overwhelm the Hunters early which allowed a good Panthers side to run in seven first half tries.

However, the Hunters had the better of the second half, showing the big crowd a glimpse of what they can do.

Marum also spoke about what is coming up for himself and a number of his players, with the Rugby League World Cup kicking off later this month.
