GAME TWO, 2007: QUEENSLAND BREAK HOODOO
2007. Telstra Stadium. Steven Bell.
Queensland overcome a strong New Wales Side, more than 76, 000 screaming Blues supporters and a supposed “hoodoo” to make history with this series-winning 10-6 triumph.
In their 11 previous visits to Telstra Stadium, the Maroons were unable to record a win, but there was no fear from the Queenslanders over any stadium curses as they played in a typically nail-biting Origin clash.
Johnathan Thurston’s vision to place an inch-perfect grubber for a sprinting Steven Bell to score in the corner produces the difference and Queensland experience the joy of another Origin series win in enemy territory.
