With one round remaining, minor premiers West Brisbane are the only side to qualify for finals in the Premier A Grade competition.
For-and-against has second place to sixth place the biggest asset for clubs to progress.
Beenleigh (22pts +84), Redcliffe (22 +62), Wynnum Juniors (21 +180), Carina (21 +124) and Valleys (20 +168) are all in the mix.
At Bert St Claire Oval from 1.30pm, the Hounds will host the Dolphins.
Normanby will be out to finish with a strong showing and disrupt Redcliffe’s place in the top five.
With a win over the Panthers last start, the ‘Phins will not want to lose that momentum.
A loss could have them out of the finals in their first season back at this level.
Look for the Hounds to get funky and play unpredictable footy, while Redcliffe will be out to play their no-nonsense style of play for 80 minutes.
Beenleigh, in second place, will host Brighton at Hammel Park from 2pm.
The Pride would like to play their next game at home again by hosting the qualifying final.
The Roosters will be out to make no friends and will not travel all that way without coming away with a full 80 minutes of mayhem, which they are more than capable of doing.
The Pride have come home in fine style with only one loss in recent times. Beenleigh play never-go-away footy and have come from behind on many occasions.
So while Brighton might think they have it in the bag, Beenleigh will back themselves to finish on top.
The Pride have never progressed past the elimination final, and they don’t wish to go down that path again.
The big cats - the Panthers of the west and the Tigers of the east - will be at each other Serengeti style when they clash at Frank Lind Oval at 4.30pm.
West Brisbane will have a bye next week after finishing on top. However, they have stumbled of late going down to the Pride and the Dolphins in the last month.
Defence has been an issue, and this will be their mantra for this contest to set themselves up for the major semi-final in two weeks.
The Tigers have been occupying second place for most of 2024. They now find themselves on the verge of elimination. A loss will mean Carina will need other results to go their way.
At Emerson Park, Valleys will host Souths Juniors from 5pm.
The Diehards sit in sixth place. A win and results their way will have them in the five. They have a massive for-and-against to bolster their chances.
The Magpies have been frustrating in 2024. They have played some fantastic footy at times, but not often enough. This belief maybe enough to lift them for one last dance in 2024.
The final game of 2024 has the defending premiers, Wynnum Manly Juniors, hosting Bulimba at Kitchener Park from 5pm.
While the Seagulls are out to stay in the five, but last year's grand finalists will only be out to mess with the entry of the team that pipped them at the post.
The Seagulls could well be back at home next week to host a final, but a loss will see their hopes of going back-to-back looking shaky.
The Seagulls have always finished the season strong and have featured in every semi-final series since the reprise of the BRL A Grade competition.
They would like to make that 10 from 10.
