Applications open for Queensland Universities head coach role

Universities Rugby League Queensland is encouraging applications of qualified coaches to guide the Queensland Universities team against their NSW counterparts in a one-off match on the Gold Coast in October.

The successful applicant will have a background that includes coaching at a State League level or similar, for the team that will play against NSW Universities at Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday October 12.

The head coaching role will include participation in a five-day camp preceding the interstate match, which will select a team to represent Australian Universities against opposition yet to be finalised.

The mission of the Australian Universities Rugby League is, in partnership with UniSport and the National Rugby League, to develop a sustainable, inclusive, and competitive representative programs that nurtures talent, promotes sportsmanship and education, and builds a strong sense of community.

This annual interstate match and the selection of the national team that follows, is designed to further this outcome.

A process to select the players for Queensland Universities team, which is subsidised by the QRL, will be run in conjunction with the successful head coach in August.
