Round 7 in review: Hastings Deering Colts

The stage has been set for a blockbuster showdown in Round 8, as the Redcliffe Dolphins and Brisbane Tigers held onto their undefeated runs in Round 7.

The Dolphins posted their sixth win of the season on Saturday before the Tigers came through on Sunday to do the same, with the two sides set to meet this coming weekend.

Here is a wrap of Round 7 of the Colts competition.

Game of the week

It was heartbreak for Souths Logan in Round 7, as a fast-finishing Burleigh posted a come-from-behind 40-30 victory at Cbus Super Stadium.

The Magpies raced out to a 30-22 halftime lead, after scoring five tries in a tight and gritty opening stanza.

But the second 40 belonged to the Bears, who scored three unanswered tries to Cruz Lasike, Kaden Somerville and James Pere to comfortably edge past the Magpies and take the two points.

The win was Burleigh's fourth of the season and sees them remain in sixth place on the Hastings Deering Colts ladder.

Round 7 was one of the closest weeks of the competition so far with the Sunshine Coast Falcons also engaging in a tight battle with the Mackay Cutters to win 16-10 while the Ipswich Jets claimed their first two points of the season with a 32-28 victory over the Northern Pride, who are yet to take home the chocolates this season.
