With just two rounds of NRL and 11 sleeps to go until the Queensland Maroons side is named for State of Origin Game I, players are determined to put their best foot forward.
Maroons coach Billy Slater said the selectors and coaches were watching closely.
"We've got a duty to Queensland to give them the best possible team that we think will go out there and play their best footy," Slater said.

"The players tell you. The players essentially pick the side. It's up to us to do our due diligence as selectors and coaches and monitor them.
"There's a lot of players putting their hand up. There's a lot of players capable.
"We had 22 players play for Queensland last year. We only get the opportunity to pick 17.
"There's going to be players that have played last year and got the job done who won't find themselves in the side for the first game."
The P&O Queensland Maroons Team Picker has launched for 2023, giving fans the opportunity to win a signed Maroons jersey just by sharing who they think will be picked in each position and on the bench; their best 17.
