Petero Civoniceva Medal update: Three share the lead after Round 6

Three players sit on top of the Peter Civoniceva Medal tally following Round 6.

Central Queensland Capras hooker Trey Browne, Burleigh Bears livewire Guy Hamilton and PNG Hunters talent Morea Morea share the lead on nine points.

Browne has been pivotal to the Capras remaining undefeated and their first place on the ladder; the 24-year-old has kicked 19 goals so far this season and made 151 tackles with 93.2 per cent tackle efficiency.

Capras assistant coach David Faiumu said Browne brought a wealth of experience to the Capras side and "craftiness around the ruck".

"He has good football IQ... more often than not, he picks the right plays at the right time," Faiumu said.

"We want him to remain as consistent as he has been for us."

Hamilton is dangerous every time he has the ball and has been strong for the Bears in the middle, averaging 305.9 kick metres each game, and with two tries so far.

Morea led the charge after three rounds and is definitely one to keep an eye on this year as he consistently performs well for the Hunters outfit.

Browne's Capras teammates Lachlan Hubner and Bailey Butler are hot on the heels of the leading three, as are eight others on six points.
