Patrick Kaufusi and Edward Hampson owned the night at the Townsville Blackhawks' 2022 presentation evening.
Players swapped jerseys for jackets and footy shorts for suits as they celebrated the season, which included a premiership victory for the under 21s Hastings Deering Colts side.
But it was Kaufusi’s night as he was named the Mendi Player of the Year while Hampson took out the U21s Player of the Year.
Football operations manager Adrian Thomson said voting for the Mendi Player of the Year was so close it wasn’t decided until the last round.
