In Round 7 of the Hostplus Cup weekend, six teams in the competition will take to the field with three games being played.
The teams who were in action last weekend for Round 6 will have their bye this weekend.

- This will be the first Cup game at Clive Berghofer Stadium in Toowoomba since Round 20 in 2013 and only the second to be played there since 2006
- The Hunters have never played at this venue, while the Devils have played there five times and lost four games, all against Toowoomba
- This season, the Hunters have lost their past four games and earlier this week, they released a media statement saying the club were "committed to making improvements to enhance their on-field performances when they resume" from the bye round and "the club would continue working hard towards its long-term goal of sustained success" in the QRL competition
- In their last match in Round 5, the Devils survived an almighty scare from the Ipswich Jets and have now won their past three games
- That win was Rohan Smith's last game in charge and the club has since confirmed the appointment of Ben King and Kevin Neighbour as coaches
