The North Queensland Gold Stars have picked up their first win of the season in convincing fashion with a 38-4 win over the Souths Logan Magpies at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
The returning trio of NRLW players Emma Manzlemann, Katie Green and Lauren Moss combined for four of the Gold Stars' six second half tries to get North Queensland back inside the top four.
Returning Gold Stars fullback Romy Teitzel made an immediate impact in the opening couple of the minutes of the match, getting an offload away to a charging Elle Stitt for a try inside three minutes.
The visitors hit back soon after through hooker Oshanis Whakatu, who darted out of dummy-half to bring the margin back to 6-4 after 15 minutes.
Despite both teams having their fair share of chances at the back end of the half, neither team was able to capitalise, with the Gold Stars taking a two-point lead into the break.
