The Northern Pride had travelled to Atherton to host the Hunters for their Round 14 Activate! Queensland Country Week clash.
The Pride started fast, racing to an early lead after two tries in the first 15 minutes.
However, goal kicking continues to be an issue for the Pride this season with regular kicker, five-eighth Tom Steadman unable to convert any of his three attempts this round.
The PNG Hunters were not to be denied running in two converted tries before the half-time siren to take the lead 12-8 at the break.
The second half started with a flurry with Wane opened the scoring within minutes of the whistle, picking up his second of his three tries, and the Hunters continued to excite and dominate the scoreboard.
Northern Pride winger Matthew Musumeci scored his second try for the season to bring the scores closer, and minutes later the Pride levelled the scores after a Bernard Lewis try that went unconverted by replacement kicker Evan Child.
The last 25 minutes of the game featured one-way traffic on the score board as the PNG Hunters continued to pile on the points to eventually pick up their sixth try and wrap up the game.
The Northern Pride had the last say of the night however when Joshua Stuckey crossed minutes before fulltime. That try was converted by Grant Anderson, the third Pride kicker for the night.
