Queensland Rugby League has increased its investment in the elite women’s game in 2021, with increased training and camp payments as we move towards equal remuneration for representing the Maroons.
In light of today’s social media commentary, the QRL wish to clarify the details around this improved investment.
State of Origin match payment remains unchanged at $2000 in alignment with NSWRL, NRLW clubs and Jillaroos international payments, and any change in this area would require negotiation with multiple parties, including the Rugby League Players Association.
The QRL has increased its investment into the preparation of the Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons, by making a commitment to pay the players for training and allowing them to increase time devoted to their preparation for the annual Origin clash.
QRL will pay players up to $6500, meaning those women who train throughout the preparation period and play will receive $8500 this year.
The men’s match fee is $15,000 in 2021.
