Queensland Maroons squad member Xavier Coates landed on his shoulder during training on Sunday and was removed from the field as a precaution.

Coates this morning had scans which confirmed a low grade sprain.

He has shown significant improvement and Maroons medical staff anticipate he will be fit to play on Wednesday.
