THE Brisbane Broncos will give both NRL-experienced players and young guns the first shot to impress in 2020 when they meet the Central Queensland Capras in Rockhampton next month.
Head coach Anthony Seibold today confirmed some senior players would be in the Broncos’ team that will meet the Capras at Browne Park on Saturday, February 15.
The match will be on the same weekend as the first NRL Nines tournament in Perth, but Seibold said players with top-line experience would be turning out in Rockhampton in the Apricity Finance Brisbane Broncos v Central Queensland Capras clash.
“There will be a mix of NRL-experienced players and emerging players travelling to play in Rockhampton,” said Seibold, who hails from the Central Queensland town.
“We will also have a strong team representing our club at the Perth Nines across that weekend also.
“The match against the Capras will be an opportunity for some of our EPD (Elite Player Development) players to travel with and play with our full-time squad.”
Seibold will speak at a benefit dinner at the Rockhampton Leagues Club the night before the match.
Broncos’ players will also participate in a kids’ development clinic on the Saturday morning as part of the Capras’ festival of rugby league.
