Maroons star Jai Arrow has told Gold Coast officials he'll be joining the Rabbitohs in 2021.
The Gold Coast forward is contracted to the Titans for 2020 but, as first reported by NewsCorp on Tuesday, he has agreed to terms to join the Rabbitohs from the following season on a four-year deal.
It is understood Arrow has not asked for an early release from his Titans deal for next season. Gold Coast officials would be reluctant to let him go early unless they can secure suitable compensation either in the form of a player swap or a transfer fee.
Arrow has played 38 NRL matches for the Titans after joining the club from Brisbane in 2018, having played 24 matches for the Broncos in the previous two seasons. He has represented Queensland four times.
Neither the Titans or Rabbitohs have made any official announcements about Arrow's future at this stage.
The 24-year-old will reunite at Redfern with veteran coach Wayne Bennett, who handed him his first-grade debut at the Broncos in 2016.
Gold Coast recently shored up their forward stocks for 2021 and beyond by signing Storm young gun Tino Fa’asuamaleaui on a three-year deal following a raft of interest in the Junior Kangaroos representative, led by the Warriors.
