Queensland Murri team to take on NSW Koori in 2020

Queensland Rugby League has today announced the Queensland Murri Under 16 team to play New South Wales Koori in 2020.

The players were selected following stellar performances at the recent Queensland Murri Carnival, run by the Arthur Beetson Foundation, at South Pine Sports Complex.

The Queensland Murri Carnival and previous camps have launched players like David Fifita, Ashley Taylor, Brenko Lee and Dane Gagai.

Experienced mentor Bert Tabuai will coach the team and hopes to maintain the strong focus on values and learning established over recent years.

"These next young players can aim for the clouds and they too can achieve as well."

Taking over from Keiron Lander, who will next year serve as head coach of Intrust Super Cup side Ipswich Jets, the former Canberra Raiders and North Queensland Cowboys player will be joined in the staffing ranks by assistant coach Jardine Bobongie, team manager Gary Halliday, head trainer Ron Tasker, sports trainer Dwayne Kangan and team mentor and trainer Leo Dynevor who return from last year’s successful campaign.

Camp and game details will be released in due course.
