The Wests Tigers have confirmed the signing of Easts Tigers and Melbourne Storm half Billy Walters on a two-year deal.
The deal will see the versatile playmaker join Wests Tigers from the start of the 2020 season with pre-season training beginning in November.
Walters, the son of Queensland coach Kevin, made his NRL debut with Melbourne in Round 16 this season and came off the bench against South Sydney in Round 21.
The 25-year-old has signed on for 2020 and 2021 after an impressive season with Easts Tigers in the Intrust Super Cup competition.
It's good reward for Walters has had a cracking year.
"The decision to leave was based on opportunity," Walters said.
"I love the Storm and everyone down here, but unfortunately through no fault of anyone, I wasn't get a crack at first grade, whereas the Tigers can offer something in the 17."
Walters said he was looking forward to working with Michael McGuire and players Luke Brooks and Benji Marshall.
"I grew up loving watching Benji play, so I can't wait to go and learn off him," Walters said.
"My goals for 2020 is to play consistent good footy and hopefully that being done in the NRL."
