Queensland Rugby League Central have announced the venues for the region's major representative carnivals for next season.
With the 50th year of the 47th Battalion Trophy being played in 2020 and the trophy named in honour of the Wide Bay Regiment, the event will return to its foundation location and be played at Salter Oval, Bundaberg.
The event will include a golden jubilee dinner to commemorate the milestone leading up to the Central Region's premier event hosted on the May Day long weekend.
Following the celebrations, the Toowoomba Clydesdales and Rockhampton Rustlers will attempt to defend their titles in their respective Men’s and Women’s divisions.
In 2020, the junior focus will centre on the Darling Downs with Warwick playing host to the Central Region Junior Carnival.
Finally, the youth 47th Battalion that incorporates the Central Region’s Under 18 and Under 20 teams will head to the Central Highlands, with Emerald’s McIndoe Park to host the third annual event.
All carnival venues were selected following a tender process completed by the Central Region Board.
The Region thanks all clubs and leagues for submitting applications.
Venues for 2021 will be considered during next year.
