The Easts Tigers have announced Craig Hodges as the club’s head coach for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
The current caretaker coach of the Gold Coast Titans, Hodges joined the them as assistant coach in 2017.
Hodges was previously an assistant coach with the Brisbane Broncos and head coach of the Broncos NYC side.
Hodges is no stranger to the Intrust Super Cup competition, having previously coached the Norths Devils. He was also assistant coach alongside Paul Green at the Wynnum Manly Seagulls, winning back-to-back premierships in 2011-2012.
Hodges said he was really excited to be appointed to the position of head coach of such a strong and proud club like the Easts Tigers.
“I am really looking forward to joining forces with a lot of the wonderful players and staff at the club and representing the passionate super-base as we look to build a club to compete in and win the biggest games our competition has to offer,” Hodges said.
“It will be a privilege to work at such a club and I totally respect the responsibility that comes with that.
“I wish the Tigers the very best for the remainder of season 2019 and look forward to 2020 with great excitement.”
Easts Tigers CEO Brian Torpy said he was excited to have Craig join the club. ‘
’Craig is a very experienced professional rugby league coach and we look forward to what he will bring to the Tigers,’’ Torpy added.
In addition to his head coach role, Hodges will work with the club’s Head of Football Terry Matterson in the management of the club’s development programs, including junior academies, affiliate clubs and schools.
Hodges will start with the Tigers on November 1.
