In pictures: Battle of the Gulf finals
There was plenty of exciting footy action during the final games in the Battle of The Gulf competition hosted by Normanton Stingers at John Henry Memorial Oval. The first semi final saw Normanton Stingers defeat last year's premiers Burketown Roosters to earn a spot in the grand final. In the second semi final, Mornington Island scraped in for a thrilling 18-16 win over Kowanyama Minh Kula, which set up a showdown with the Stingers. Mornington Island Raiders were too strong for Normanton in the decider to claim Battle of the Gulf glory and bring home the premiership shield. All Photos: Andrew Tunney
