South Sydney Rabbitohs back-rower Ethan Lowe will join Camp Maroon as Queensland’s 18th man for the State of Origin series decider.
Lowe, who is currently enjoying a short break from his NRL commitments with a visit to his hometown of Goondiwindi, will link with the Maroons in Brisbane on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old forward has been in strong form for the Rabbitohs this season after joining the club from the North Queensland Cowboys.
He spent six years with the Cowboys, playing a key role in the team’s 2015 premiership success.
Lowe’s selection as 18th man puts him a step closer to a debut Maroons jersey following several appearances in Queensland’s Emerging Origin program in recent years.

Gold Coast Titans young gun AJ Brimson will also join the Maroons squad this week.
Brimson, who played five-eighth for the Queensland Under 20s team which beat NSW in 2018, took part in the Emerging Origin camp on the Sunshine Coast earlier this year.
