The Western Mustangs have bolted ahead of the rest at this year’s Central Junior Carnival, winning three of the five age groups played in Bundaberg at the weekend.
The region outclassed both girls’ age groups and dominated the Under 16 Boys competition – the ‘band’ getting back together after a majority of players returned to the Mustangs following the Darling Downs’ success at last year’s QSSRL Under 15 Championships.
Hosted at Salter Oval, the fourth-annual carnival to select the Central Crows’ Under 14 and Under 16 boys and girls teams was played in great spirits and all four regions should be congratulated on their efforts.

A special thanks must be extended to the Bundaberg Junior Rugby League for their efforts in convening this year’s event.
All players, coaching staff, representative coordinators, QRL and NRL staff, volunteers, parents and spectators should also be thanked for making the event as successful as it was.
