Exciting rivalries on show in Round 3

The Burleigh Bears and Tweed Heads Seagulls derby will headline a big weekend of Rivalry Round matches in the Hastings Deering Colts this weekend.

Across the competition, clubs with strong historical rivalries will go head-to-head in what are sure to be some great games.

The Round 3 action will kick off on Saturday with the CQ Capras travelling to Mackay to take on the Cutters.

The Cutters form is looking excellent after they recorded a 38-12 win over the Magpies last round in front of a home crowd.

In Sunday’s Bears v Seagulls match, the Gulls will be chasing a win after their Round 2 loss to the Blackhawks.

However, the Bears are looking strong after their 42-6 win last round over the Jets which saw Jayden Campbell successfully convert all seven of his team’s tries.

The top of the ladder Blackhawks will go head-to-head this weekend against Pride who are sitting close behind them in second position.

Both teams have had an impressive start to the season so far and are both undefeated.

Beau Berg is a player to watch after scoring a hat-trick for Pride last round along with his teammate Jai Doherty, successfully kicking all nine conversions.

After both teams were at the wrong end of the scoreboard last week, the Ipswich Jets and Easts Tigers will be looking to bounce back in Round 3.

While the Tigers were always in the game against the Devils last week, they were unable to push ahead to eventually go down 22-18.

This weekend, the Devils will head to Davies Park to take on the Magpies and will be full of confidence as they are one of the teams which have been undefeated this season.

Western Mustangs go up against Falcons at Gold Park with the Darling Downs side chasing their first win of the season in front of their home crowd.

One of the competition’s biggest rivalries will see the Wynnum Manly Seagulls host the Redcliffe Dolphins who are chasing their first win of the season having fallen short against the Falcons last week and to the Northern Pride in Round 1.

Wynnum Manly will be chasing a back-to-back win after their impressive game against the Capras last weekend.
