Sunshine Coast Falcons have been on a signing spree over the past month, securing some of the best young talent on the market.
The Falcons kicked off their 2019 signing news by announcing the signature of Mackay Cutters young gun half Nicho Hynes. Hynes was arguably Mackay's best performer in 2018, and will add another dimension to the Falcons attack in 2019.
The Falcons have also announced that prolific Intrust Super Cup try flyer Jonathon Reuben will join their squad. Reuben spent the past four seasons with the Blackhawks. The 85kg back is one of the competitions elite try scorers, having scored 70 tries in 68 Intrust Super Cup appearances, at a strike rate of just over one try per game.
The Falcons announcement of new faces didn’t end there, with the club promoting the addition of Norths Devils and former Brisbane Broncos playmaker Todd Murphy. Murphy is an experienced campaigner, having already played 69 games where he has notched up more than 500 points in the Intrust Super Cup.
Sunshine Coast have also signed Cutters centre Nathan Saumalu, former South Sydney Rabbitoh Siti Moceidreke, Sunshine Coast junior Tyson Smoothy, and have also re-signed captain Chris Lewis for the 2019 season.
In other player transfer news; forward Lachlan Timm has left the club after signing with the St George Illawarra Dragons on a one-year-deal, while half Ryley Jacks has also signed a one-year-deal and will be with the Gold Coast Titans next year.
