It was an early start as the touring party went back to school to speak at students from Kurt Capewell's old primary school St Mary's Parish on Day 4 of the QRL's Drought Relief Tour.
He and former Maroon Mick Crocker addressed the students before it was time for everyone to get outside to have some fun and play some rugby league games.
It followed on from a rewarding night at the Charleville RSL where local councillor Shaun Radnage spoke about Capewell's continuing generosity to help out the local junior rugby league.
Capewell's Charleville homecoming - Drought Relief Tour
After the school visit; Crocker, David Shillington, Chris Walker and NRL Development, QRL and Men of League staff hit the road to head to the next destination - St George.
The long road trip showed just how dry the land is, with plenty of red dirt and road kill seen along the way.
The journey was broken up with a stop to Mitchell's Great Artesian Spa where some of the players had a dip in both the hot and the cold pools before lunch.
Then, it was back in the convoy to St George before a quick visit to the Cobb and Co pub before finishing the night at the Australian Hotel.
