A constant presence in the Raiders' forward pack, Bateman put in some early impressive performances where he made over 35 tackles in each of the green machine's first three matches. The most came against the Newcastle Knights where Bateman conjured up 43 tackles.
Bateman's most impressive performance came against the Penrith Panthers in Round 14 at GIO Stadium.
Bateman suffered an early cut to the head which didn't seem to deter him as he went on to tally an impressive 50 tackles.
With the departures of Shannon Boyd and Junior Paulo, 2019 is shaping up to be a big season for Bateman who will look to further build on his 2018 season.
