If you are keen to watch some live rugby league – the Ipswich Jets are encouraging fans to head to North Ipswich Reserve this afternoon to see the Australian Defence Force Rugby League team go head-to-head against an Under 23 NSW Country selection in a trial match.
The Ipswich Jets are excited to be hosting the free event in support of the Australian Defence Force Rugby League team as they prepare for their upcoming tour of Papua New Guinea.
Kick-off is at 5pm for the main game being played at North Ipswich Reserve training fields (Alan Cumming's Park).
The Jets are not only providing support by supplying the venue – some of their players will also be suiting up for the ADF side, with centre Ben White being "recruited" into the side (who are short on numbers with a handful of players still in transit).
(Update: Petero Civoniceva Medal winner Nat Neale had originally put his hand up to play, but unfortunately had to withdraw his services due to illness).
The Ipswich Jets are proud supporters of the ADFRL and hope to see as many spectators attend this game to show their support.
As an added bonus – the first 50 children who come through the gates will also receive a free Ipswich Jets Football.
After the game, both teams will get together at the Jets Leagues Club to enjoy dinner; with the ADF team departing for their tour tomorrow.
The Women's Australian Defence Force side is also set to be joining them on the tour and will take on a PNG Defence Force side this weekend in Port Moresby.
