The QRL has today announced the XXXX Queensland Rangers team to play the NSW Ron Massey Cup representative side at the Gold Coast's Pizzey Park on Sunday, June 17.
The Queensland team will proudly fly the flag for grassroots rugby league, with all players selected from the recent QRL Championships which brought together the best local league talent from throughout the state.
Rangers coach Glen Dreger is delighted with the overall strength of the team.
"I'm really happy with the experience we've got in this year's team," Dreger said.
"Zach Strasser is going to be a great addition for us at halfback, and we've got some youth as well with young prop Bailey Butler one of our leaders in the forwards."
Queensland will assemble in camp on the Gold Coast next Wednesday to begin preparations for the annual clash.
NSW was too strong last year, running out 30-14 winners.
"They got off to a flying start and we couldn't reel them in," Dreger said.
"I'm just looking for us to come together as a unit and prepare well."
The June 17 clash at Pizzey Park is scheduled to kick off at 12noon and will be played before the Intrust Super Cup clash between the Burleigh Bears and Sunshine Coast Falcons.
