Job Purpose:
To lead the planning, preparation and development of the CQ Capras playing personnel and development pathways.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Alongside Board Directors and the CEO, be the custodian of Capras culture in line with published Vision, Mission and Values.
• Be Head Coach of the CQ Capras club in the QRL's Intrust Super Cup competition:
• Appoint, lead and mentor coaching personnel.
• Apply technical, tactical and sports science expertise to ensure that Capras teams compete at their best in their respective competitions.
• In consultation with the CEO and other coaching personnel, recruit, retain and manage playing personnel for the Intrust Super Cup, HD 20's and Mal Meninga Cup.
• Ensure the professional preparation of all Capras teams to ensure best effort and optimum results are achieved.
• Monitor and evaluate player performance and development and provide mentoring and feedback.
• Provide pastoral, welfare and other support services to playing personnel and staff in line with QRL guidelines.
• Establish selection and reward systems for playing and coaching personnel.
• Work in conjunction with the Coaching & Development Manager for CQ Capras Academy (Rockhampton, Gladstone, Bundaberg and Central Highlands) & CQ Capras junior representative programs
• Be an ambassador for CQ Capras Rugby League Ltd:
• Engage with sponsors as reasonably required.
• Maintain positive relations with local and ISC media to ensure maximum coverage for the club and sponsors.
• Ensure that playing and coaching personnel understand the importance of engaging genuinely with sponsors, media, fans (right across CQ) and the broader community to build the CQ Capras brand.
• Be accountable to the CEO and board for performance:
• Accept responsibility for agreed on-field and off-field performance targets.
• Manage the football department within budget parameters.
• Provide a written report to monthly board meetings on performance of the football department.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
· Level 3 Coaching Certificate (or willingness to attain).
· Experience as Head Coach at first (A) grade level in an Australian competition as a minimum, with a proven, positive attitude towards achievement of results.
· Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
· Verifiable experience in developing strong player, team and club culture.
· Demonstrated performance as a coaching coordinator/director (of pathway programs resulting in graduation to the senior team in the pathway) with specific examples of (verifiable) successful outcomes.
· Experience in overseeing successful player welfare programs.
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
· Current Driver's Licence
· Queensland Blue Card for working with children
