A weekend of comebacks in the Intrust Super Cup became even more miraculous when Scott Drinkwater scored on the siren to steal a 26-22 win for the Easts Tigers against the Central Capras.
The Capras had led the match 16-4 at one stage and were in front until Drinwater's Hail Mary, converted by Billy Walters after the buzzer.
A bell-ringing tackle from Ash Little in the 79th minute forced the error which gave the Tigers a scrum and feed 10 metres from the Capras line.
Queue a perfectly executed set play, with Walters passing to Brodie Croft who kicked for Drinkwater.
Drinkwater swooped on the ball to complete a back-from-the-dead effort by the home side.
Tigers winger Linc Port earlier opened the scoring in the seventh minute when he received a bullet pass from Drinkwater, however the attempted conversion was waved away.
The Capras scored the next two tries; Nathan Bassani dived on a kick from Zeik Foster to level the scores in the 20th minute and then Oliver Percy scored in the 25th minute to give the Capras the lead.
It was a lead they would hold until the decisive play in the final seconds.
For the Tigers, Queensland Residents players Walters and Drinkwater were at the fore, along with Croft.
However the Tigers' best on the day was winger Jarrod McInally, who scored two tries, including a typical McInally high flying acrobatic effort to pull in a kick.
Arguably his best work was done off the ball though. Twice in the second half he pulled off desperation one-on-one tackles to prevent the Capras scoring what could have been match-sealing tries.
Bill Cullen was the best on park for the Capras, damaging in the middle of the field and showing deft touch when he offloaded to Blake Goodman for his first try.
