Now a long-standing and anticipated event for the Ipswich Jets; next Saturday will see the club host their Afternoon of Indulgence fundraiser.
*** (There are still tickets available – but RSVPs close soon (May 16). Contact the Ipswich Jets office to make a reservation at 3202 1887 or football@ipswichjets.com.au)
The Jets have used the closest home game to Mother’s Day for the past 10 years to thank the women who give their club so much of themselves as volunteers, administrators and officials as well as the support many other provide as mums and partners.
The event will be hosted by MC Abby Coleman from Brisbane's Hit 105 and will include food and beverages, a gift bag and access to pampering services, including fashion vouchers, massages and nail treatments.
As well as being a fun event to say thank you; the afternoon also serves as a key fundraiser for the Ipswich Domestic Violence Centre.
The Jets are part of the ‘Not Now Not Ever’ campaign and last year were honoured by its chair Dame Quentin Bryce delivering a key note address (pictured above).
As part of their commitment to ‘Not Now Not Ever’, the Ipswich club have used the event to support the Ipswich Domestic Violence Centre.
In the past four years, they have raised $20,000 for the organisation and will make another donation this year.
They will wear a special jersey to honour the game (pictured above Pio Seci and Jets Corporate and Community Engagement Officer Nicole McPhee).
As part of celebrating the involvement of Women in League, Ipswich Brothers SEQ Women’s A Grade team (featuring NRL Top 40 squad members Brittany Breayley, Ali Brigginshaw, Kody House and C J Sims) will play as part of the day.
The tickets are $60 or $550 for a table of 10. There is a non-alcoholic ticket option for $45.
>>> The Jets will host the Norths Devils on Saturday, May 19 in the Channel 9 (QLD) TV game. Tune into the coverage from 1pm.
