Rugby League Gold Coast has announced their 2018 Senior Vikings representative teams to participate in the upcoming XXXX Chairman's Challenge on May 18-20.
The XXXX Chairman's Challenge is an annual tri-series contested by the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Ipswich representative teams in A Grade and Under 19s divisions.
Gold Coast A Grade coach Scott Cook was excited about the squad he has named and is looking forward to competition later this month.
"Although we don't have as much speed in the side this year, we still have some young players and experience to be competitive," he said.
Cook, a local premiership winning coach from 2012, will field a squad with players from all across the region, with seven of the eight local clubs represented.
Tweed Heads will field the most players with five, while Burleigh have four. This 20-man squad will be cut to a final squad of 18 in the coming weeks.
The Vikings won the A Grade series last year and will be looking for improvement in 2018, as will the Under 19s who will field plenty of players fresh off playing in the Mal Meninga Cup.
