Tomorrow night (March 16) sees an exciting new development for NQ rugby league, with a girls competition set to kick off with games featuring the Under 13, Under 15 and Under 18 age groups.
The participating girls are excited to play and ready to start in their first trial game for the season.
The girls have been training hard for two weeks under the guidance of QRL Emerging Origin Girls QAS squad coach Ben Jeffries and Coco Quirke.
All the girls train together as one big group doing different drills, including ones that focus on ball skills and tackling technique.
All the players have said they have not only been learning a lot from the coaches – but from their team-mates as well.
This season, they will play in a nine-a-side competition on a modified field with the hope of recruiting more players to later expand the competition to full field.
There are so many pathways for junior girls in 2018 and the Townville girls are ready to give it their all.
