The QRL has today announced its Queensland Outback representative positions for 2018.
There are some familiar names associated with these teams, including Wayne Smith, the father of Maroons captain Cameron; and Australian Jillaroos forward Steph Hancock.
Smith will coach the Outback A Grade team in their annual clash against Northern Remote Areas, while Hancock will guide the inaugural Under 14 girls team.
Smith has spent time mentoring several Outback coaches over the past four years and has put his hand up to coach the senior team in 2018.
Fresh from her World Cup success with the Jillaroos, Hancock will transition into coaching after being invovled at the Outback Junior Muster in Cloncurry last year.
