The opening match will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), with fans able to purchase tickets to the biggest sporting event in Australia from as little as $35 and family passes from as little as $125.
NRL Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Abdo said the decision to release tickets on sale now for the first Origin next year was due to the incredible number of fans who took in all the action of this year’s series live across the three matches and on TV.
Significant demand for tickets from interstate travellers who attended the previous time the MCG hosted an Origin match in 2015 also factored into the decision to provide plenty of time for fans to plan their trip.
