The Maroons family last night paid tribute to Johnathan Thurston ahead of the deciding game of the Holden State of Origin series.
From inside Camp Maroon, Manager Steve Walters spoke glowingly about Johnathan’s contribution to the Maroons and rugby league in Queensland, before a moving JT tribute video was played to the group.
Cameron Smith then presented JT with the game ball from Origin II, as well as a framed picture titled “Milestones, Memories & Mateship”.
JT expressed his gratitude to all involved in the presentation, but the selfless Queensland champion quickly switched the focus back to his teammates by urging them to focus on their own roles rather than any emotion attached to his farewell Origin series.
