Rugby league returns this weekend with the staging of the NRL Auckland Nines (February 4-5).

As well as seeing some stars of the Intrust Super Cup making their mark for their new NRL clubs (see Cup stars to feature at Nines) – and number of Queensland representative Women players will also be showcasing their skills as part of the Australian Jillaroos.

The Aussies will face off in three games against the Kiwi Ferns and will look to make amends following last year’s 2-1 series loss.

Queensland vice-captain and NRL Ambassador Renae Kunst is a key member of the leadership group within the squad and represented the side at this morning’s Captain’s Call.

She is joined in the leadership team by fellow Queenslanders Brittany Breayley, Karina Brown and NSW superstars Sam Bremner and 2016 Dally M winner Kezie Apps.

Forward leaders Steph Hancock and Ruan Sims are both injured and will not play.
