The Ipswich Jets are hoping to feature in the finals again next season after struggling to back up from a premiership-winning performance in 2015.

In this most recent season, retirements and players leaving to pursue NRL opportunities took their toll on an inexperienced team who finished just outside finals contention.

In 2017, the Jets have retained most of their squad, but will be without dynamic back Carlin Anderson who is heading north to the Blackhawks.

One exciting addition to the Ipswich squad to look out for is fullback Matthew Gibuma from north Queensland.

He was spotted by the Jets playing in the recent Murri Carnival; a player club chairman Steven Johnson has likened to a young Matt Bowen.
