The Western Mustangs are calling for interested players who want a chance to compete in Queensland’s top Under 18s and Under 20s competitions in 2017 to come and trial.
A new identity on the Darling Downs – the Western Mustangs will take over from the Toowoomba Clydesdales entity and will incorporate areas across the region including the Central and South Burnett regions with a home base in Toowoomba and regional development bases in Roma and Kingaroy.
An Open trial (for players from across the region) will be held at Gold Park, Toowoomba (Bottom Oval) on Saturday, October 22 for all players looking for an opportunity to be included in the Western Mustangs 2017 squads.
The Under 18 and Under 20 squads will play in a shortened QRL statewide competition in the early part of the 2017 season.
This is an opportunity to represent in the first ever Western Mustangs Rugby League sides and is also a pathway to further honours with the club signing an affiliation with the Gold Coast Titans earlier this year.
The trial registration will begin from 10am, with warm-up to commence at 10.30am.
A scrimmage game will then take place from 11am.

Training will begin the first weekend of November for successful trialists, with an information session to be held at the end of this month (October).
