2016 FOGs Colts Player of the Year – Lane Ferling
Hailing from Kingaroy, country values haven’t left the well-spoken captain of the North Devils FOGs Colts challenge team as he shared the honour of being named the best player in the competition with his team-mates.
“I'm still very overwhelmed and feel deeply honoured to have received the award. It came as a massive shock as there were some very talented players in the running. I believe the award doesn't only reflect my performance personally, but more the performance of the Norths Devils Colts team.”
When quizzed about receiving the award from the Queensland State of Origin coach, Ferling answered “I was in such awe to receive the award from such a prestigious man that Kevin is. I was amazed at how humble he was, and the time he took to stop and have a chat to me about my rugby league and future in general. It is something I will never forget.”
