The UQ Hounds have produced the upset of the Universities Rugby League Queensland season so far by downing premiers Griffith Logan Redbacks on their home turf on Wednesday.
The teams scored three tries each at Meadowbrook, but five goals from half Brendan Baker kept the Hounds on top.
Keegan Parker nabbed two tries for the victors in an impressive turnaround for last year's grand finalists, who had shown see-sawing form in 2016.
The result showed the URLQ competition is wide open, especially after the Gold Coast Griffith Uni Panthers produced an upset of their own.
Down on the coast, the Panthers showed grit to outlast their Brisbane cousins the Griffith Uni Dragons 16-14.
The match was locked 10-10 at the break, but the Panthers edged ahead in the second half through a Jake Hughes try and finished the game in front to record their first win of the year. Hale Vaihu scored twice for the Dragons.
And at Banyo, ACU made it two on the trot when they nipped the QUT Trouts 12-10.
The Trouts had a 6-4 lead at the break and the match finished with the sides two tries apiece.
However an extra goal from ACU's Leon Yeatman was the difference, with Geoff Fabila notching another try.
