The Beaudesert Kingfishers continue to assemble a formidable staff for season 2016.
John Venz will be joined by Ron Lucas to coach the Under 19s as the club looks to bring the exciting young talent through the ranks. John is a Beaudesert Junior who played in the premiership-winning team of 2005.
He has extensive experience in western Queensland which involved coaching representative teams.
Ron, who played first grade football in Brisbane after starting in Byron Bay, joins him as coach.
Joining the club’s coaching staff is Queensland and Broncos legend Andrew Gee. Andrew will assist the coaches and pass on his valuable knowledge to the younger players to help with their development.
Andrew started his football career with the Kingfishers, going on to play for the Broncos, Queensland and Australia. Andrew is a Broncos legend who forged out a career at administration level after hanging up the boots.
His experience at NRL, State of Origin and Test level will be readily ingested by the Kingfishers. Andrew is looking to give back to the club that gave him his start to his decorated rugby league career.
The Kingfishers have had strong interest from players to join for season 2016 and hope to make some further announcements in coming weeks.
The Under 19s only have a handful of players stepping up to seniors so with the addition of some quality younger players, the team are confident of a much improved year. The seniors will only lose two players to retirement and will again look to challenge for a premiership.
The club is thrilled to have so much experience on board for season 2016. A more professional club that can develop the young talent coming through is the goal for the season ahead.
