The Easts Tigers are pleased to announce the signing of Tongan Test halfback Daniel Foster for next two seasons.

Foster played a leading role in guiding Tonga to a 28-8 win over the Cook Islands in the recent World Cup qualifiers. Foster's passing game was a highlight of the match, especially in the lead up to the first try scored by Manly Warringah Sea Eagles player Jorge Taufua.

2015 was a tough year for the 22-year-old with a knee injury limiting him to only a handful of games with the Penrith Panthers NSW Cup team.

Tigers CEO Des Morris said the club was excited to have secured the services of Foster and looked forward to him adding depth to what was an already strong looking roster for 2016.

“It is an exciting new chapter in my life being able to move to the Sunshine State, so I’ll see how I go.” Foster said

“It's a massive change. The thing that helps me though is that my partner's family lives up there so it's a second home for me already.”
