Players spread across 10 Intrust Super Cup clubs will feature in this year’s XXXX Queensland Residents team to play the New South Wales Cup representative side at Suncorp Stadium.
Intrust Super Cup front-runners the Northern Pride have five players named in the representative team for the annual clash on July 9.
Burleigh, Easts, Ipswich, Mackay, Norths, Redcliffe, Souths Logan, Tweed Heads and Wynnum Manly will all supply one player or more following an exhaustive selection process conducted throughout the first half of the season.
The Intrust Super Cup’s 2013 Coach of the Year – the Pride’s Jason Demetriou – will guide the squad which enters camp on the Gold Coast this Friday.
Queensland will be striving to reclaim the honours in the annual representative match after NSW claimed a tight contest in Sydney last year 22-18.
PNG Hunters players are ineligible for Queensland Residents selection. This follows a mutual agreement between the Hunters and the QRL, which took into consideration the extensive national programs already provided in PNG.
