The QRL is the peak sporting organisation in rugby league in Queensland that strives to be innovative and progressive both on and off the field.
Located at Suncorp Stadium, we are seeking a Communications Manager to join our team. This role is newly created and will work closely with the CEO, Board, Qld State of Origin Head Coach and Department Heads to effectively manage all aspects of communications and media within Queensland Rugby League.
Are you the right person for the role?
The ideal applicant will demonstrate the following key attributes as they apply to the key responsibilities of the role:
This role is all about networks and experience which you will effectively be able to portray;
You will ideally hold tertiary qualifications in PR and Communications and a have a minimum of 4-5 years experience in a similar role;
You will demonstrate effective conception through to execution of campaigns, events and media strategies including digital;
Demonstrated experience with high profile brands
Demonstrated capacity to utilise relevant software essential to the digital environment including Adobe Photoshop, InDesign & Premiere
Highly developed written and interpersonal communication skills.
Knowledge of the trends within the sports digital media industry, including social platforms and online video development
An understanding of sport in Australia in terms of industry, media and politics.
Mature approach to the role, comfortable working with athletes and officials
