Biography
A Queensland mainstay, Townsville Souths product, Colin Scott made his name as a must-watch fullback in the Brisbane Rugby League, primarily through his illustrious stint with Wynnum Manly.
Scott was fleet of foot, as capable as dancing through the line as he was of finishing off attacking raids, with the likes of Gene Miles, Rod Morris and Wally Lewis.
The North Queenslander paved the way for the Maroons number one jersey to become one of the game’s most famous roles, going on to represent Australia and becoming an inaugural Brisbane Bronco in 1988. He also had a stint with Castleford in England.
That night (Game I, 1980) laid the platform for a lot of Indigenous players that followed after us.
Colin Scott FOG #2
He was so crucial to Queensland's success, that even when Gary Belcher cemented his place as first choice fullback, in 1987, Scott still made the team - as a winger.
Scott’s work, on and off the field, saw him earn an Australian Sports Medal and he remains a figurehead within the Indigenous rugby league community.
